Uninstaller - Shareware

Description

CrystalIDEA Software developed Uninstall Tool as a paid alternative to free uninstaller software, which puts it in the speed and clean interface rather than competing price with free tools. The application implements the usual uninstall and scan process — running a program’s own uninstaller, then scanning for registry entries and files the uninstaller has left behind — but adds real-time installation monitoring that records exactly what each application puts on the system as it installs, generating precise removal data instead of inference-based scanning.

The one-time license pricing sets Uninstall Tool apart from competitors who have switched to subscription models, and makes it a single purchase that includes all future updates for free and without recurring cost.

The programs list shows all the installed applications with name, publisher, installation date, version, and size in a clean and fast loading interface. CrystalIDEA focuses on the speed of the list population as a product characteristic — on systems with large numbers of installed applications, the list loads significantly faster than the Windows Add/Remove Programs panel. A search field is used to filter the list in real-time, as the user types, and narrows down a large program inventory to matching results without waiting for a full-text search to complete.

Selecting an application to remove executes the original uninstaller program to completion, and then Uninstall Tool’s scan for leftover files and registry entries. The scan looks for keys in the registry containing the name of the application, installation path, and publisher identifier, and looks in file system locations such as Program Files, AppData, ProgramData, and temporary directories for leftover content. Results are presented in a list with checkboxes for selective removal. A remove-all option removes all detected remnants in a single action; individual entries are used to deselect to retain specific items.

Uninstall Tool’s installation monitor monitors what an installer does as it runs — what files it creates, which registry keys it writes, and which startup entries it adds. The monitor writes this activity into a log that is associated with the application in the programs list. When the user later removes that application, the removal uses the recorded installation log instead of scanning for remnants by name pattern, which results in a more complete and accurate cleanup because it removes exactly what was installed instead of guessing what might be there.

Applications without working uninstaller — corrupted installations, partially removed programs, or software whose removal executable was deleted — use the forced removal mode. This mode takes a program name or installation path and looks for files and registry entries associated with the program without relying on a removal executable. The forced removal is aimed at the same residual content that would be found by installation monitoring or standard scanning.

Multiple programs choose from the list and put on a queue to be removed sequentially. Each program’s own uninstaller is executed, followed by Uninstall Tool’s leftover scan per application. Batch removal processes without the user having to manually confirm individual uninstallation steps, running the queue to completion.

The startup manager enumerates all programs that are set to run at Windows startup from registry Run keys, the Startup folder, and scheduled tasks. Each entry displays the publisher, file path and startup location. Programs are enabled or disabled from the startup list, and disabling is reversible. The manager permits cleaning startup entries for programs that have already been uninstalled but left a startup reference behind.

Every removal action is logged with the application name, removal date, whether the removal was using the standard uninstaller or forced mode, and whether a leftover scan was run. The history gives a record of what has been deleted from the system and when.

CrystalIDEA designed Uninstall Tool with a lightweight interface that loads fast and responds without delay on low-specification hardware. The resource use of the application while idle is low and the list population and search routines do not suffer noticeable delay on machines where Windows own programs panel is slow on large software inventories.
