StrongRecovery is Windows data-recovery software for finding files that disappeared after deletion, a quick format, a damaged file system, or a lost partition. It scans storage structures and file signatures, then copies selected results to a safe destination. StrongRecovery can work with hard disks, SSDs, USB drives, and memory cards. It cannot repair a clicking drive, reverse overwritten sectors, or guarantee that every listed filename still contains an intact document.
Stop writing first
Deleted data often remains only until new writes reuse the same storage sectors. Stop downloads, updates, installations, and ordinary work on the affected volume. Installing StrongRecovery onto that same disk can overwrite the files the scan is meant to find.
Use another system drive for the utility and prepare a second physical destination for recovered output. Saving a recovered file back to the source risks overwriting another missing file that has not been copied yet.
Check physical health
Software recovery suits logical loss: an emptied recycle bin, deleted partition, quick format, or unreadable file system on a device that still operates steadily. Repeated disconnects, grinding, clicking, burning smell, or a drive that no longer spins point to physical trouble.
Continuing a deep scan on failing hardware can make its condition worse. Power the device down and consider a recovery laboratory when the data justifies the cost. StrongRecovery cannot repair heads, motors, controllers, or damaged flash memory cells.
Choose the scan
A file-system scan can recover names, folders, dates, and other structure when enough metadata survives. Deep Scan searches sector content for recognized file patterns and can find material after heavier damage, but filenames and original folders may be absent.
Start with the least intensive path that matches the loss. A deep sector scan can take a long time on a large disk and may return old fragments beside current files. More results do not automatically mean a better recovery.
Image unstable media
When a disk has read errors but remains accessible, a disk image captures readable sectors into another storage file. Later scans can work on the image rather than repeatedly stressing the original device. The destination needs space for the image, which may approach the source capacity.
An image does not heal unreadable sectors. It preserves what the hardware returned during that pass. Keep the original untouched after imaging and document any read errors before analysis continues.
Preview real content
StrongRecovery can show discovered files while scanning and preview supported content. A correct preview is stronger evidence than a familiar filename because directory metadata can survive after the file body was partly overwritten.
Open the recovered copy from the destination and inspect the entire document, photo, archive, or video. A thumbnail may use only a small intact section. Archives should pass an integrity test, and long recordings need checks beyond the first seconds.
Respect edition limits
The free edition allows recovery within both a file-count ceiling and a total-size allowance. Scanning and previewing a large result set does not mean every item can be copied without those limits. Select the most important intact files first if working within the allowance.
StrongRecovery performs read-only analysis of the source, but safe recovery still depends on user choices around installation and destination. After the important data is copied and verified, replace or reformat the problem storage as appropriate. Do not keep using a questionable device as the only location for recovered files.
