VMware Player Download

VMware Player is now renamed as VMWare Workstation Player. The developers of this software are VMware, Inc. It can be used for free by non-commercial users after entering their valid email ID, but the license needs to be purchased before using it as a commercial product. It is targeted to run on Windows and Linux Operating Systems. It is actually virtualization software that can virtually run multiple operating systems on your PC.

Install

On clicking the VMware Player file, the setup wizard will open up. You will be asked to agree with license agreement terms after carefully reading them. You can also install additional feature of enhanced Keyboard driver. This feature will first reboot your computer and will occupy 10 MB of system memory space. You can edit User experience settings about product updates and providing feedback. You can enable creation of shortcut icons. Upon clicking the Install button, it will be installed on your PC.

Also choose its name and location and specify disk capacity. You can also customize the hardware settings. Then click Finish button to create a virtual machine within your system. After the virtual machine is created you can access it by browsing your PC for the saved location. You can open it and start using your created VM.

Licensing Fee:

In order to use VMware Player for commercial purpose, you need to buy its Pro version. It can be bought at $249.99 USD. For upgrading it to latest versions you need to pay $149.99 or $99.99 based on current software version. The support package also comes along with membership purchasing and is available in Custom, Basic and Production types with slight differences.

Requirements:

This software supports Windows, 7, 8, 10, Server 2008, Server 2012 version. It can also run on selected versions of Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux and openSUSE operating systems. Your system should be standard x86 PC with Intel and ADM processors. The processor speed should be minimum 1.3 GHz and RAM should be of 2 or 4 GB. Both the processor and host operating system should be 64 bit if you are using 14 version of the software.
